Since my teen years I have yearned for that something. As a teen during the seventies, I sought that “something” through drugs and hedonism. In my twenties, I turned to Jesus in a very Fundamentalist way. I rode that horse for about twenty-five years. As a fifty-year-old, I started practicing Yoga and meditation. I have read Eckhardt Tolle, Neal Donald Walsch, and some of the other New Thought Gurus. I hit these dry spells. Seems like ain’t nothing happening. Just when I am ready to throw in the towel, I get that flash of light that pushes me onward in my search for that “something.” I am still singing with Bono, “I still haven’t found what I am looking for”. I’m just enjoying the journey more.

Thank you for this post, I can relate to the doubts and struggles of the spiritual seeker. You are not alone. :)
