I can’t add anything to what Selma said. Breaking the glass ceiling is a mystery to me. As far as your writing, you write as well as any of the medium rock stars that I have read. Why some people gain a following and others don’t is beyond me.

You are not alone. I question whether I am the quality writer to break out gain a large following. I focus primarily on poetry and fiction. My readership growth is slow and tedious. I struggle with self-confidence over my abilities. My impression is that Medium primarily focuses on essays. But, I might be kidding myself. I have a few loyal readers who I believe genuinely enjoy my work. First, I write for me; Then for them.

Put your family first. Dial back if necessary. You may be overextending yourself.
