Are you doing time?
Yes, incarceration by your mind.

You were sentenced by harsh words,
forever to this stead.
By destructive words,
you were left for dead.

Are you doing time?
Yes, incarceration byyour mind.

Chains, one synaptic link at time,
indict you of your fictitious crime.
They demean you and leave you broken,
by laughter and cutting words spoken.

Are you doing time?
Yes incarceration by your mind.

Destroyed and deflated to never rise,
unless you learn to see through different eyes.
Hope sparked by your souls reprise.
Perhaps, kind words will lift you to the skies.

Are you doing time?
Yes, incarceration by your mind.

In time you learn to despise their lies,
By loving your self and disregarding their cries.
When they spew the fire that is spoken,
know truly they are the ones broken.

Are you doing time?
Yes, incarceration by your mind.

Not all heal from their hate-filled tokens.
Eons pass, many hearts stay broken.
Perchance, tender words caress your ears
and wash your cheeks stained by tears.

Are you doing time?
Yes, incarceration byyour mind

A lover of souls will come, I pray,
with healing words to ease your way.
Shedding light and filling dark places,
It is YOU abiding and healing those spaces.

Are doing time?
Only you can free your mind.
